| John's Lumber was "born" in 1947, in the same spot the Gratiot yard occupies today.
Back then, things were a lot different. Many customers and friends of the Aggeler family asked "Why WAY out there?". Back then, Gratiot at 14-1/2 mile road was farm country. Maybe Roy knew something, or maybe the land was cheap. Either way, John's Lumber has been in business serviceing the housing, remodeling, and building needs of Macomb and surrounding counties ever since. It's a lot bigger today. The Shelby yard opened in 1986.
60 years in business is a huge accomplishement and we are celebrating in many ways. Stop in either yard and look around and say hello. We'd like to thank everyone for making it possible to hit 60 years, and counting. |
